Some of our Dive Sites at Kadmat
The Wall (8-30 meters) :
One of the best sites at Kadmat without doubt. The Wall starts from a shallow shelf at 8-9 meters and drops in places to 30 meters. Almost a kilometer to swim along, the Wall is covered with beautiful soft coral and many nooks and crannies housing all sorts of macro stuff, eels, lion fish. The wall sides and the depths next to it are great to spot Eagle Rays, Devil Rays, large tuna, Barracuda and the occasional cruising sharks and Rays. Large resident turtle are almost always spotted at the bottom.
North Cave / Breath of life (5-25 meters) :
This dive never disappoints. Housing some of the best and liveliest reef in Kadmat, this site is full of live plate coral and all kinds of fish life. Shoaling Black Jacks, large Napoleon wrasse, Barracuda, Bat fish, resident Turtles in large numbers everywhere and great visibility almost all year around makes this site truly amazing. Home also to loads of macro life and a stunning diversity of fish, the highlight of the dive is a large chamber / cave at 21 meters which houses the occasional Nurse Shark or Turtle even! And the breath of life as we call it…
Turtle City (8-25 meters) :
We’ve counted in excess of 35 turtles here in a single 1 hour dive! And that’s not counting the ones on the surface. Home to large, resident Green Sea Turtles mostly and the friendly Hawksbills, Turtle City is choc-o-block with turtles on most days and has a beautiful reef to match too.
Double Reef (10-28 meters) :
One of the best spots to see resting sharks, rays and turtles along with a resident Batfish shoal that comes to check out divers almost always. Double Reef is a sloping reef separated by two wide sand patches where we have seen 3 to 4 Rays resting together and as many reef sharks chilling on the sand too on many occasions. There’s a wide variety of coral all around and brilliant visibility is almost always a surety.
Shark Alley (38 meters) :
A classic deep dive into the Blue to a ledge at almost 40 meters which is home to everything from Grey Reefs to White Tips and some large Nurse Sharks occasionally. Covered with soft coral, the Alley has given us some amazing dives with stingrays, batfish and a solitary Tiger shark once too! A little spot between the two islands of Kadmat & Amini, the Alley is always a beautiful dive.
Potato Patch (5-20 meters) :
A very unusual site, the Patch is perfect for Beginners to Advanced divers with its mounds of Pillar coral and beautiful sand patches all around. With loads of small fish in the coral and large shoals of jacks, fusiliers and the cruising Napoleon’s, the Patch has also treated us with Eagle and Devil Rays coming up from the depths.
Jack Point (15-25 meters) :
A superior dive on the sloping South-Eastern reef, Jack point is full of soft coral patches and some very large coral heads that are home to resting turtles, fusiliers, Blotched Fantail rays, white-tips and large schools of resident Big Eyed Jacks that shoal at the end of the dive. Eagle Rays are also spotted here and the occasional current provides for a mellow drift dive.
The Cave (8-20 meters) :
A beautiful spot on the Western reef, the Cave is a lovely highlight at 16 meters in the middle of a rich and vibrant reef. Home to an astonishing number of Shrimps, glass fish and the perpetual squatting Puffer fish, the reef is also great to spot Scorpion fish, beautiful Anemone patches and cruising Jacks, turtles and large Napoleon’s. The occasional resting Nurse Shark and Fantail Rays are always a treat to look forward to here.
